Crooked Teeth in Children
Permanent teeth that are just beginning to grow in the child’s mouth are actually quite crooked when they first come in. It is common for them to angle around the mouth and to be in different directions.
When the other teeth start to fall out and more permanent teeth start to come in, the child will then start to have straighter teeth throughout the mouth. This is because the mouth has more room for them to come in and grow.
However, when the baby teeth are being stubborn and do not want to move out of the mouth as the adult teeth start to grow in, then the dentist may need to remove the baby teeth from the mouth. This can give the adult teeth more room to grow.
Sometimes the teeth just grow in crooked and when that happens and they do not straighten out or it interferes with the child’s jaw, then they may need to have braces put on to correct their mouth and their bite.
