The Process of Receiving Porcelain VeneersHaving veneers placed usually requires at least two trips to our office to complete. During the first visit, we will consult with you about what you would like to fix in your smile. We will build a treatment plan and let you know what to expect from the procedure. Then we will prepare your teeth to receive the veneers by shaving off some of the outer layerings of enamel on your teeth. We removed some of the enamel on your teeth so that the veneers can sit over the top of your teeth without appearing too large to look natural. If necessary, we will place temporary veneers over your teeth to protect them while you wait for the permanent veneers to be crafted. Once our dental lab has finished crafted your veneers, it will be time for your second visit to our office. During this visit, we will remove any temporary veneers from your teeth and carefully place the permanent ones on your teeth using a strong dental adhesive. Once we are sure that the placement of your veneers is just right we will set them in place permanently by activating the dental adhesive with a special ultraviolet light.
